Appalachian State University Police received a report of an attempted robbery without weapons that occurred near Mountaineer Residence Hall, located at 711 Poplar Grove Road in Boone, at approximately 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15. An investigation is ongoing.
The victim reported that two suspects asked for money, and when the victim refused, the suspects demanded money and then engaged in a physical altercation with the victim.
There are no reported injuries that can be directly tied to this incident.
The description of the suspects provided is that they are two college-aged males, both wearing jeans and cowboy boots, one with blonde hair and one with brown hair.
The victim reported the suspects fled the area after the incident in an unknown direction.
