Sexual Assault

On Wednesday  January 15, 2014, a female student reported to ASU Police that she was sexually assaulted on Sunday January 12, 2014 by a known male acquaintance in a residence hall on the east side of campus.  

Anyone with information regarding a crime is encouraged to call the ASU Police Department at 262-2150, or you may also report crimes anonymously at .

 Tips for keeping safe:  

  • Recognize that your sexual needs do not give you the right to do whatever you want. Any sexual activity should be mutually desired. 

  • Be careful when inviting someone into your room or apartment or when going into someone else's room or apartment. This is where most sexual assaults occur. 

  • Trust your instincts. If you don’t feel comfortable in a situation, leave. 

  • Do not hesitate to call Police if you feel you are in an uncomfortable

 Notification of a serious crime to the campus community is required by federal law.
